3D Police Cap Cake

Police cap was carved from cake..... I certainly need to improve on this 3D police cap... was too caution of too much cake wastage and left lesser cake to consume (my biggest mistake here)... Besides, the fondant texture was affected due to too much of colours added to achieve the cap colour (hence make it harder to handle). Bottom tier is 8" round cake, police cap was carved from 6" cake :)

Piglet with Heart

All I want to say is I love this cake.... love the heart so much.... will make this kind of heart again, perhaps other colour instead of red :)

Elmo(s) on tree and behind the tree

Last year Charlotte has a sweet pink cake (click link here for last year's cake picture). This year Charlotte's mom requested for single tier cake with Elmo and friends in garden. I made extra Elmo behind the tree looking at the friends.... Here's what I came out with, hope she likes the cake :)

Thomas with tunnel

I especially love this freehand made Thomas (eventhough I still need long hours to make one, the details take up quote a bit of time...).

Twins Wei2Qi2 with Tiger outfit

As they are a lot of moulding to do, this cake took me days to complete all the figurines :) Love to see the twins, they are identical twins (tho I'm not sure if Wei2 & Qi2 are identical twins or not). Those animals requested are their soft toys (hence there's a snowman in it eventhough there's no snow fall).

Pororo the penguin with transport theme

First time making Pororo figurine (sorry off hand forgotten the name.... the little penguin and the pink friend), I find them cute, love to mould them. This cake is big and heavy, 10"+8" two tier round cake.... I was looking at the Thomas train again and again and was thinking why I need so many hours just to finish one train.... I think I'm fussy in making it.... trying to get all things right.... might have to consider simplify it in future :)

21st Birthday for Ferlyn

Ferlyn is very precised on the design she wanted, a bit similar to what I did before with a little modifications..... Glad to see how this cake turns out... sweet pink theme :)

100 acres wood for Pooh & friends

I personally feel that the cake wastage due to carving is quite a lot for this pillow cake.....

Scupture 3D car

Freehand drew the prancing horse logo.. not very big and I did it very carefully... yipee am glad that I got it right with one attempt... hope I can get the same result if I've chance to do it again (am never good in drawing...).

Doraemons with Standing flowers

Nothing was requested by Kylie's mom other than Doraemon.... somehow for whatever reason, I do not know why the top tier colour seems to look like lime green colour (I actually did it with yellow colour...) puzzle!

Big Head Giraffe for Joshua

Was asked to do something like the cake I did before (click the link here for previous cake)... only did very minimum changes. Personally I prefer to have cake board covers with either royal icing or fondant, don't you agree that it yields a better result on overall cake look. Please highlight in your email if you wish to have cake board covers with fondant :)

Tigger & Mickey Joint celebration

This is for two brothers' celebration, Sheldon is turning 1 whereas Spencer is 3. Was told what characters to mould and needed the train for bottom tier cake.... their mom leave the whole design to me. Since there's no specific design, I've added extra figurines for this cake... no wonder I was thinking why I took so long to mould for this cake.....

This is for the nephew, Coen. Not a cake but is just name with freehand made burger to be placed on cheesecake made by A (her cake theme is Spongebob). Love these mini burger :)

Kiera's mom is using Sujan's cake (click link here for the other cake) as a guide for the design and allow me to do modification (need not be totally same....) and she requested for Giraffe, Tiger, Pig, Cow and Elephant. Since it's meant for girly animal theme cake, hence I tried to make those animals as feminine as possible. Another fun cake to make.

3D Closed Book Cake

This is a FUN cake to make... Bottom tier yellow book is a dummy whereas top tier (blue book) is carved from cake (equivalent of 8" square cake). Is meant for a boy who loves his crayons with his 'robot' (sitting behind him on the crayon).....

Darby, Pooh & friends with stripes

Charmaine's mom specifically requested for the same design as the Pooh Big 1 I posted on 21.05.2010 (click on the link to see the previous cake). She also requested for some changes and wanted to have the cake board covered with fondant (see both pictures for the different with and without coverring the board ... personally I find it nicer to have it covered tho' it requires more work & time to do that).

Magicball and Happy Family

Last week was really a hectic and rush week for me with the party moved forward and some last minutes changes...... thank god is over.... In case you do not know what is magicball (I didn't know until I visited the website), here's the website you may visit www.antibac2k.com.jp. It was sitting on the cake board as requested. Whole family were seated at golf course and added the three family cats. As mentioned earlier, human is always not my strength and I wish to thank C for your trust eventhough I highlighted this in my mail. Thank you, appreciate your trust and I believe I am doing better this time (wink wink). Would also like to thank C for this gift.... Thanks. Will enjoy this together with my dad as he loves tea :)

Cinderella for Erica

Moulding human is never my strength... took me many hours to make this princess ( a lot more room to improve in my human moulding, I will work hard on this). I like the flowers I made... thanks to my friend "L" for the cherry blossom inspiration (wink wink).

Tigger cake for Xarl

Xarl's mom is very specific on what she wanted. She gave me picture of cake design she wanted (right hand side blue/orange/blue cake). Was asked to change blue colour to this green and change the tigger (there's another tigger picture given) and add the wavy white clouds and two green fishes. Honestly I was worry of the colour combination and glad that it turns out better than I expected. Would really love to try out this design with original blue/orange/blue colours as I have fallen in love with this design. Thanks to Xarl's mom for providing the source picture and the person who made Sem's cake. Thank you. Not forgetting to thank my buddy 'S' sister for the square cutter (it helps a lot in making this cake). A big THANK YOU to all of you. Btw, the bottom tier was not cake, it was a 'dummy' :)

Baby Minnie, Princess & Baby Sesame

Was asked to do something similar to the cake I made before (click link here) with some changes to the figurines position and add the little princess as well as Baby Minnie (she is bigger size than the rest normal size figurines I used to make).

Golfer Dad

As I'm not a golfer myself, I did not realised that I've made the clubs for left handed golfers (until I was pointed out) and I need to improve in making clubs.... Yes to me, there's no rules in playing golf, since it's short by 'mm' for the golf ball to enter last hole (No 18), I am letting the golfer to push it in with his finger instead (lol). Golfers out there, please do not jump up! Relax, it's just for fun....

Sesame Driving....

Hornnnnnnnnnn.............. Give way, give way, Sesame team of members are driving. As usual cookie monster is busy with eating his cookies. Cake size is 10"+6" two tier round cakes. For smaller size cake, cars will be smaller :)

Humpback whale, Dory and Nemo

I was searching from internet for whale's picture in Nemo movie... oh boy, hardly any (spent hours in looking for it). In the end, I decided to use Humpback whale as a guide to mould it.... hip hip hooray, am really happy to see how the whale turns out with his blowhole (I think can't see it clearly in my picture) and different shade of colour for it's body. Since Dory and whale to be the main characters, hence Nemo is left swimming behind Dory :)

Lego pieces cake for Cheyne

This is one of the many cakes that I'm looking forward to make.... tho extra hours are needed to carve and cover them one by one with different shade of colours, I truly enjoy the process .... I particularly like the numeric 1 with lego design which I put the dots one after another (thank you to the good hot weather, else the numeric 1 will not stand upright) and the freehand moulded Mickey (love it). The not so satisfying piece is the brown figurine behind the little boy.....can you guess what it is..... does it look like a 'toy bear' to you ?... (haha there is a story behind it). While preparing those figurines, I suddenly have this urge to make the car from milk bottle (I like it too).... All lego pieces are cakes.

Ethan's Sesame Train

Very similar to the Sesame train I did before..... not much of changes made except for coverring cake board with fondant and add the big numeric 1 on top tier.

XXL Tiger with normal size animals

Kylor's mom requested for a Tiger with any other animals, birthday wishes and covering cake board with fondant and she leaves the design to me. My initial plan was to make a XL Tiger and it ended up became a double XL Tiger (no wonder I used up so much of the fondant just to make this XXL Tiger). There are many ways to mould tiger, this is one of many I attempted. Thanks for the trust I get from many of you to leave the design to me :)

Kristin's Park & Clubhouse

Design is similar to Jovin's Park & Clubhouse posted earlier and Kristin's mom managed to get her friends to buy those plastic figurines (same as Jovin's) and shipped from USA. Not much changes made to earlier design except of minor differences here and there. Have put in some hearts for V Day. Happy V Day to all!

Rilakuma for Evelyn

I have totally no idea what characters they are until I did a search in internet. Seems like the bears like food (from those pictures shown in internet), hence I have added the cherries. Btw, this is an 8" round cake.

Happy Lunar New Year to all!

Made these two different designs to welcome year of RABBIT... one is RICE BUCKET (wanted to put the chinese word 'FULL' on rice bucket but weather is really wet these two days and I skip that); the other one is CHEST BOX FULL OF INGOTS (initial plan was to have God of Fortune figurine with rabbits but am really busy and have no time to mould)...

I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Lunar New Year! May all stay healthy and happy always!

Would also like to thank my friend "C" for bringing the roller to my place despite the jam.... it was really nice to see the print on red fondant when it's done but due to wet weather, the fondant melted along the way and the print was not visible (what a disappointment).

Btw, I am off for CNY break and may not attend to mails during this period. Thank you for your understanding......

Playground for Sesame & Friends

This cake requires a lot of manpower to made those figurines, slide and swing..... Am happy with how it turned out and also I can now concentrate on my CNY baking.... next week will be baking marathon for me.... haha. I may be late in responding to emails, please bear with me if you do not get prompt reply...

Pooh on Bridge

After I completed this cake, my daughter was asking me why Piglet trying to get the beehive and not Pooh..... hmmmmmm I told her that Piglet is Pooh's buddy and that is why Piglet is trying to get that for Pooh (what a lame excuse.... reason is Pooh might be too heavy and the tree branch may not be able to support Pooh's weight...).

Pinky Minnie with her pink car

Time flies..... it has been a year passed since I made Fatimah's cake last year (click link here for last year's cake). The celebration was last weekend (sorry was not able to upload picture earlier).... All I was asked is to have a single tier 10" cake with Minnie theme, black minnie face at the side of cake and most importantly cake must be 'PINKY'.... really pinky.....

Am glad to hear that all of them like the cake.... and also glad to note that Fatimah still keeps her last year's cake figurines until now. Thank you :)

3D Tree stump for Pooh and friends

Sometime back in August last year, Hayden's (also Vanessa's) mom contacted me and asked me to make a cake for her baby Hayden's first birthday. Knowing she is an easy going lady and without much request on the design (after the experience I had when I made her older child Vanessa's cake, click link here to view the cake.... http://gladcake.blogspot.com/2009/07/vanessas-pm-with-farm-animals.html), I actually propose to her (when she sent the numeric 1 candle to me this month) that I am thinking of carving the cake into 3D tree stump shaped using same amount of cake batter for 8" cake.... as expected she is fine with it (see that is what I say she's an easy going lady, hehe). Though it requires more time to carve the cake and more fondant needed, overall I am happy how the cake turns out especially when she told me she likes it (she has no idea how the overall design will look like until the cake is done - since she left the design to me). I was really stress when I carry the cake downstairs as the swing keeps moving non-stop (was afraid that it may drop.... stress, on second thought, should I make the swing to really move next time....).

Blue & White colour theme for JACE

My very first cake for Year 2011..... Was asked to do Blue and White colour theme and "JACE" as cake topper., Noted from Jace's mom earlier requirement that she wanted something more elegant but suggested to her to have some fun element in it since it's for baby boy (hence I added extra cows and the boy figurine to the cake). I was trying very hard to restrict my colours to blue and white only (except for the cow print which I can't help to have black colour). Thanks to Jace's mom for leaving the design to me and am glad that she loves the design.
