Made extra cupcakes to go with party theme.... Birthday cake is chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and cover with sugar paste. It weighs slightly more than 3 kg.
Here's the cake for the fairies I made earlier. My friends baked all the cakes, it's a very huge cake. I helped in decorating the cake and am so glad that both her daughters (they are having combined birthday party) like it (so does my daughter). The two fairies representing both the birthday girls.
I'm always not good at moulding human but am pleased with this Johnny Bravo :)
This is for my friend's hubby who will be celebrating his birthday on CNY eve but I'll be travelling then, so I made a lapis cake instead which can be kept for quite long.
I also take this opportunity to wish everyone "Happy Chinese New Year!".
Dora, Boots, Swiper, stars, flower and tree were made from fondant. Water is from piping gel. I still need to practice more on human, find it pretty hard to make Dora. Hope Emma (birthday girl), her mom and friends like this cake.
Of all cakes I've made thus far, I like this most. Light blue is my favourite colour....This has 360 degree view.
This is specially for dd's buddy who has a hermit crab as her pet. After making the 'cartoon look alike hermit crab', I continue to add other sea creatures and dd also helped making some clams and sea turtles. Although we have spent quite a lot of time on this cake, we find that the time was well spent after seeing the cake. Oh yes, I've forgotten the air bubbles last night (can see from one of the picture without the bubbles) and added them only this morning. I think the effect is nicer with air bubbles.... don't you agree with it :)
Birthday girl wanted rats cake. Intially thought of making either one big rat eating the cake or one 3D rat but she wants smaller rats. Here's what I came out with and glad that she likes the cake.
According to Josiah's mom, when she shown him the castle cake I made previously, he agreed eventho' he likes dino. What a sweet boy! This is what we agreed and I felt sorry for him as he couldn't take egg at the moment, so I hide his favourite food in the turret at least he could still get to eat something from the cake. How I wish I have a tested eggless cake recipe so that he could still enjoy the cake. I shall do some research and try out eggless recipe when time permits.
Had wanted to make a cake for 'L' who is a very helpful and thoughtful lady. Finally...... made these 2 cakes for her ds to celebrate his 3rd birthday. Happy Birthday Leroy! Initial plan was to make a two tier cake with 'Barney and friends' in the park but due to the recent wet weather, I've problem drying the figurines.... so I have to change plan and make a plain 6" Barney cake and make another Cars cake.
My dd commented that the Cars cake is too high (in height) and too short (in length) which I totally agree with her. However I was too 'sayang' to curve away the top of the cake.....
Sorry folks for not posting any pictures here for such a long time. Here's the cake I made for Baby Xaius to celebrate his very FIRST birthday. His mother requested for Elmo and I added some of Elmo's friends to the cake.
Due to personal reason, I will not be making cakes until further notice..... I will only finish those that I have committed. Thanks very much for all your kind understanding.
